It has been brought to PASS’s attention that on June 4, 2018, FAA Assistant Administrator for Human Resource Management Annie B. Andrews issued a memorandum to all FAA employees stating that the agency is conducting a review of locality pay. (The memo appears to have been distributed electronically on Wednesday, June 6.)
Specifically, the agency is looking at whether employees who have telework arrangements are receiving the correct locality pay. After an audit of certain parts of the agency, the FAA found that some employees were not physically reporting to their listed duty station often enough to receive the locality pay of that duty station. Under agency policy, employees are normally required to report twice a pay period to their duty location or host office to receive the locality pay associated with that office. It now appears the FAA is looking at this issue agency-wide. PASS strongly encourages any employees who have questions or concerns about this issue to reach out to their regional vice president.
PASS will be in a better position to respond to these issues and to assist employees if it is aware of specific situations where employees may not be in compliance with agency policy.
