Dear New Member:

We have processed your membership application and I thank you for joining PASS! I’m pleased to present you with this virtual membership kit. On this page you will learn about some of your member benefits and find resources that should answer any questions you may have about PASS. As you are learning more about us, don’t hesitate to reach out to the national staff via email. You can also reach out to your regional vice president and local PASS union reps for assistance at any time.

Be sure to sign up for our weekly e-newsletter, PASS News Now, which will be delivered to your inbox every Thursday.

You can also download the PASS app (or scan the QR code below) using your personal email—not .gov or .mil:

You should have received an email from PASS that provided you with a union email address and temporary password. You will need your passmember.net email address activated so that you can access the wealth of material on the members-only section of the PASS website. If you are having trouble logging in to your new email or the website, please contact April Norville.

You will also receive a second email with more specific information about your membership, identifying your regional vice president, your chapter assignment and your chapter leaders. They are there to help navigate you through PASS.

Finally, as a new PASS member, you are entitled to a free, U.S., union-made PASS polo shirt! Just go to our union products vendor, Image Pointe, to order yours.

Welcome to PASS!

{slider title=”PASS Constitution” open=”false”}

PASS is governed by Federal Labor Relations Authority Statute and the rules set forth in the PASS Constitution. It is the primary document that governs the union’s day-to-day operations. The constitution is reviewed and amended every two years during the union’s convention by members who are elected delegates to the convention. Amendments are presented to the entire membership for a ratification vote after the convention.

{slider PASS Website}

PASS’s public-facing website allows the flying public, lawmakers and the media to see the important work you do for our country. The member-only section provides exclusive content and tools for dues-paying members. New members should have received an email from the national office with a user-name and temporary password. Once you have registered, you can change your password, start exploring union resources online and activate your PASS email. If you misplace your username or password, please select the Member Only button and click on “Visit the password reset page” on the log-in page. Once you fill in the necessary information you’ll receive another email with your username and password.

{slider Exclusive Member-Only Content}

The member-only section of the website contains links to dozens of resources for dues-paying members. They include:

PASS Constitution. This document outlines the governance of the union, addressing structure, leadership, national elections and more.

PASS Regions. The union is divided into five regions and the Region tab allows you to find information specific to your PASS region.

Labor Relations and Workplace Safety. These tabs will get you to the collective bargaining agreements, or contracts, the union has signed with the FAA as well as the latest news on grievances, important documents, our workplace safety programs, and more.

Media. PASS members receive a weekly enewsletter, PASS News Now, with news and member events. The union also publishes a quarterly magazine, PASS Times, sent to all members at their home address. You are automatically signed up for these when we get your email and home mailing address.

Member Benefits. Through Union Plus, a consumer benefits program for union members, you are eligible for a whole host of discounted services: rental cars, insurance, disaster relief grants, scholarships and more! When signing up for Union Plus, be sure to select the Marine Engineers’ Beneficial Association (MEBA) as your union. MEBA is our direct link to the AFL-CIO.

Legislative & Government Affairs. The PASS government affairs department, the National Legislative Committee and PASS members are active on Capitol Hill, looking out for your benefits and agency funding. Under this tab, you can find information about current grassroots initiatives, links to congressional letters, testimony and the PASS PAC.

{slider PASS Political Action Committee}

A political action committee (PAC) is an organization that functions as a liaison between elected federal legislators and voters. While PASS can bargain directly with the FAA over pay, all other federal employee benefits and agency funding are determined by Congress. It is crucial that PASS have a voice to protect your benefits and we have that voice through the PAC. By identifying qualified candidates and supporting their campaigns financially, PASS can ensure that members of Congress, regardless of party, are supporting you. By law, membership dues cannot be used for political activity and all PAC donations are voluntary. Sign up for the PAC today. When you are accessing PAC information, please do not use a government-issued tablet or computer and only on non-duty time. More about the PAC.

{slider Representational Questions and Grievances}

PASS has representatives in workplaces and workgroups throughout the country and in all Regions of PASS. For job-related or representational questions, contact your local rep. If you have a work-related grievance, you should immediately contact your local PASS rep. If you do not hear back in a timely manner, reach out to your regional vice president.

{slider Get PASSionate and Get Involved}

PASS encourages and welcomes your participation! Contact your chapter president or vice president—their information can be found in the PASS member-only section under the Members tab. PASS members also have opportunities for professional development through Article 13 (ATO) and Article 23 (AVS) of our contracts with the agency. The FAA solicits input from PASS members who serve on projects or workgroups to improve the nation’s aviation system.

{slider Social Media}

PASS has active accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Our handle on each is PASSnational. PASS is also on LinkedIn, where you can connect your profile to ours and network with other PASS members. We have a photo gallery on Flickr to highlight PASS members in action.

{slider PASS vs. Government Shutdown}

PASS members did not take the 2019 government shutdown lying down! Across the country, PASS members took to the streets in a series of informational pickets to inform the flying public and the media that the shutdown was gambling with aviation safety! Check out our award-winning video documenting their efforts.

{slider Payroll Deductions and Member Benefits}

If your dues deductions do not start within four weeks or the deduction amount is incorrect, please contact Member Services Manager Emily Edwards. Emily can also answer any questions you have about your membership and benefits.
