Today, the Professional Aviation Safety Specialists (PASS), AFL-CIO, praised lawmakers in the House of Representatives for passing Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reauthorization legislation that does not privatize the nation\u2019s air traffic control system and provides long-term funding stability the agency. PASS represents FAA safety professionals who protect and maintain the National Airspace System.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor years, PASS has been emphasizing that the United States has the safest, largest and most complex aviation system in the world, and privatizing that system would only introduce an unnecessary level of risk and uncertainty,\u201d said PASS National President Mike Perrone. \u201cToday, the House of Representatives passed an FAA reauthorization bill that ensures the United States remains the gold standard in aviation safety and rejects air traffic control privatization.\u201d<\/p>\n
The legislation reauthorizes the agency through September 2023 and provides several safety and employee training reforms that PASS has long fought to include. \u201cAs PASS celebrates this victory, we remain steadfast in our commitment to continue fighting for the men and women who are tasked with ensuring the safety of the world\u2019s most complex air traffic control system,\u201d said Perrone. \u201cWe now look forward to working with the Senate as that chamber prepares to consider its own FAA bill and hopefully send the final legislation to the president\u2019s desk.\u201d<\/p>\n
