{"id":695,"date":"2018-07-31T18:47:37","date_gmt":"2018-07-31T18:47:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mainsite.maxesio.com\/?p=695"},"modified":"2018-07-31T18:47:37","modified_gmt":"2018-07-31T18:47:37","slug":"end-of-an-era-pass-region-v-vice-president-retiring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mainsite.maxesio.com\/?p=695","title":{"rendered":"End of an Era: PASS Region V Vice President Retiring"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Earlier this month, long-serving PASS Region V Vice President Bob Abbott announced his retirement from the FAA and PASS leadership, effective today, July 31. \u201cIt\u2019s a bittersweet time for PASS and our Executive Board,\u201d said National President Mike Perrone. \u201cWe have worked with Bob for years and have seen his dedication to our members. But while we\u2019re losing a valued colleague, he\u2019s leaving us with a stronger union.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Under the leadership of Brother Bob, PASS organized the FAA\u2019s Service Centers, bringing union representation to these dedicated federal employees, many of whom have already become dues-paying members. Brother Bob spent over 23 years in the U.S. Air Force, which included 16 years overseas as an air traffic controller, and started his FAA career in 1995 as an aeronautical information specialist in what is now Mission Support Services.
